← Welcome homeTHE PERSON BEHIND THE PROJECT

A little hope.
A place to begin.

Deepen Your Sobriety is an independent project created by Chris: a place for stories, faith, and practical next steps.

Why this place exists

A story can give us words for something we haven’t quite been able to say. A reflection can turn into a small action. And a clear link to support can help someone take a step beyond the screen.

Chris shapes the direction of this site: welcoming people in recovery, people considering recovery, the people who love them, and Christians of every background. You do not have to share its Christian faith to belong here.

This is a personal publishing project, not a treatment provider, counseling service, church, or meeting organizer.

Why stories—and why fiction?

The stories explore ordinary moments: arriving at a meeting, accepting help, keeping a promise, or doing something kind without being noticed. Their characters, dialogue, and events are invented. They are not disguised accounts of real people or testimonies from the podcast.

AI assists with writing, artwork, and site development. Chris directs the project and its presentation. We do not claim that every episode has been listened to in full, that every story has received individual human editorial review, or that the content has clinical or pastoral approval. Each story explains the source material used.

Our relationship to Deepen

The project is inspired by Deepen with Pastor Joby Martin. Each story names the relevant episode and links back so you can hear it in its original context.

Deepen Your Sobriety is not affiliated with or endorsed by Joby Martin or The Church of Eleven22. Referencing a podcast, ministry, or support organization does not imply its approval of our stories.

How to use the site

Choose a story. Listen to its source episode if you wish. At the end, sit with the question, try the small invitation, and download a free “Take it with you” card. When you want company or practical help, our resources link to the organizations that provide it.
